This workshop will focus on the EU superstore dataset, which has been provided in Canvas. This data set focuses on orders, returns and people (sales representatives) for a store that supplies office products, furniture products and technology products within Europe.
Your remit is as follows (as a minimum)
Develop a range of key overall business measures as visuals (cards), including (but not limited to):
- Overall Sales
- Overall profit
- Overall profit to sales ratio (see measures that need to be calculated below)
- Total number of products
- Total number of customers
Develop of a range of initial visualisations that provide insight into the ‘health’ of this business based on the following key dimensions.
- Segment (customer)
- Category (product)
- Sales representatives
Base the above analysis on the standard key measures of:
Measure(s) that will need to be calculated.
The relationship between profit and sales – the profit to sales (value) ratio, shown as a simple ratio of Profit (value) / Sales (value). This ratio is a key indicator of business health.
